Finding the right site to apply for credit card?
April 4, 2009 - What is the best site to trust that isn't a scam for a first time Credit Card user. I need one to establish credit but dont want to ruin my life by going to a site that leads me to debt and ruins my future. I'm trusting you guys to make a accurate response and lead me to a legit site that allows me to apply with no credit established and not a scam.
- Any site that's BBB or ABA approved. Look for the VERISIGN on it as well.
- Online is ok, learn to recognize the Verisign and the other logos (aba,bbb etc) as mentioned and you will not live in fear like the poster above.
- If you are this scared, you want to spend some time learning ways to prevent getting scammed and THEN you can apply for a credit card somewhere. Just go to the american bankers association site and read it all,it will be a start.
If you want a UP FRONT Credit Card go through your Local Bank Branch, DO NOT go through a Website as most of them are FRAUDS and either want money or share your personal information Personal Experience I got screwed with a Visa from Capitol One and even after I closed out the account and paid them off they still charged me monthly fees which is illegal
Trusting people will lead you to ruin. To avoid scammers, when on the signing up page see who the page belongs to and then see if they belong to the Banker Association at http://www.aba.com/default.htm Then, don't apply for just any card. If you get turned down at this stage, your credit will go down, you don't want that before you even start. Get the millennium card http://www.esuperfind.com/nextmillenniumcc.php It is a secured card so you won't be turned down. It is a safe card, read their faq to see how it works. Good luck
